AI and Affiliate Disclosure
Two things you should know about how SnobFop is made. Neither is a secret, which is why they are on a page rather than in a footnote.
Some of the writing is machine-generated
The short description on each card, and the Curator's Insight beneath it, are drafted by an AI model and then reviewed. The SnobFop Index, the number telling you how much a work will ask of you, is assigned the same way.
We are telling you this because a recommendation service that writes with confidence should say where the confidence comes from.
What is not machine-generated
The decisions. What belongs in the catalogue, what the categories are and what they mean, where the Index sits and what it measures, which titles are worth your evening. Those are human judgements, and they are the product.
The machine writes drafts. It does not decide what is good.
It gets things wrong
Occasionally a date is off, a director is misattributed, or an insight is confidently incorrect. We check what we can and we fix what we find. If you spot something wrong, tell us at concierge@snobfop.com and we will correct it.
We would rather be told than be flattered.
Your data and AI
Editorial copy about titles is generated in advance and involves no personal data at all. If you use Taste Roast, your taste profile is sent to Anthropic's API to write the response. That data is not used to train models. See the Privacy page.
Affiliate links
When SnobFop links you to somewhere you can find a title, some of those links may earn us a small commission at no extra cost to you.
This does not influence what we recommend. The catalogue is assembled and scored before anyone considers where you might get hold of something. We will never rank a title higher because it pays better, and if that ever changes we will say so here first.
