Terms of Use
By using SnobFop you agree to these terms. They are deliberately short.
Your account
You need an email address to make an account. Keep your sign-in details to yourself. One account per person. You must be at least 16.
You can delete your account at any time from your account settings, and we will delete your data as described in the Privacy page.
What SnobFop is
A recommendation service for films, television and books. We suggest things. We do not supply, stream, sell or lend them.
Where we link out to somewhere you can find a title, that is a link to a third party operating under their own terms. Some of those links may earn us a commission. See the AI and Affiliate Disclosure page.
What you may not do
Scrape the catalogue, resell access, use the service to build a competing dataset, attempt to break or overload it, or use it for anything unlawful.
Everything else is fine.
Our content
The catalogue's editorial writing, the SnobFop Index, the category taxonomy and the name and design of the service belong to [LEGAL ENTITY NAME].
Factual metadata about works, titles, years, creators and countries, is not ours and we make no claim to it. Cover images belong to their respective rights holders and are displayed under the terms of the APIs that supply them.
You may share individual recommendations freely. That is rather the idea.
Your content
Your shelf, your ratings and your Taste Pillars are yours. We use them to generate your recommendations. We may use aggregated, de-identified patterns to improve the service, for example noticing that a category is under-served. We will not publish anything that identifies you.
No warranty
SnobFop is provided as is. We do not guarantee it will be available, accurate, or that you will like anything we recommend. Editorial judgements are opinions. Availability information may be out of date.
Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the service. Nothing here excludes rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law or equivalent legislation where you live.
Ending things
You can stop using SnobFop whenever you like. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, and we will tell you why.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia.
